Opening: Fri 9th Oct, 6.30-8.30pm
Sara Graça (b.1993, Lisbon) is based between London and Lisbon, working across installation, sculpture, drawing, photography and video. Her practice plays with conventions of fixed individual identity, reflecting contemporary states of porosity and impermanence. She makes use of material and situational constraints to approach themes from daily coexistence. Graça positions her work self-consciously, holding in tension the constructed and the spontaneous, perceptions of material and emotional value, and a direct relation to physical space.
For her presentation at Commonage Projects, Graça continues to develop an approach initiated as an invited artist at the Provisional School For Nothing (Sabóia Portugal, September 2026), experimenting with methodologies of image-making as a performative process. Diluting ideas of what is constructed or spontaneous, staged or authentic. These constructions were made with other participants at the Provisional School, and subsequently with strangers, friends and acquaintances in London. The resulting images test the boundaries between flatness and spatial depth, with colour fluctuations of Cyan, Yellow, Key (Black) and traces of Magenta that resemble prints bleached by long sun-exposure. These are installed in a way that reflects the provisional nature of the exchanges and gestures captured in the images.
The images been made in collaboration with: Elliot Charrua, Samuel Papon, Elsi Cooper, Séan Being at Provisional School for Nothing; and Arto Vanhasselt, Quincy, Olga, Daniel, Dorottya, Miriam, Giulia, Shriya and others in Oxford St and Southbank.

Sara Graça’s recent solo exhibitions include Is it more room (Kip, London, 2026), Yes, and (waldermarstr4210999berlin, Berlin, 2026), toi, moi, la pluie (Goswell Road, Paris, 2026) and Boa Good Sorte Luck (Culturgest, Lisbon, 2025-26).
